Christmas 2012

Merry Christmas from Bob & Barbette

In May Corey and Sarah were married in a beautiful wedding on our deck,
complete with a spectacular sunset. We visited them in Naples,
where Corey is a photographer for the Naples Daily News.

At the end of May the Tall Ships anchored off our beach;
their sails and lights at night were a highlight of the year.

Tara & Henry came to the beach for their annual July 4 visit.  It was wonderful
to see them and their adorable girls, Riley-8, Addie-6 and Waverly-2.

In August Ginger had a baby girl, Simone Lia McGeer.
It was great to see all the McGeers at Corey’s May wedding.

Liam loved his time at the beach.

In September we journeyed to San Francisco for the grand opening of
John and Jada’s Pilates Studio called “Elevate Group Fitness.
What a wonderful city to explore.

Kimberly and Tristan spent the past year in DC, with Kimberly working as a nurse in the burn unit of Washington Hospital Center and Tristan playing
soccer and enjoying second grade.  In October Joe returned after almost
a year in Afghanistan. It was exciting to watch the family reunite.

We saw lots of friends and relatives on our beach deck this summer
and even had a Texas BBQ wedding reception for friends.

In November we weathered Hurricane Sandy.
The waves were spectacular, but thankfully, the storm just skirted us.

Bob kept busy with the Thalia Lions Club keeping up its web page
and publishing a book about the history of our church
as we celebrated its 350th anniversary,

and Barbette’s photography card business took off.

In October she celebrated five years of being cancer-free by walking in
the Race for the Cure with Bob, her sister, niece and other relatives.

And finally our two dogs, Scout and Lucy,
love the beach but Lucy at 9 has slowed down.

We are thankful for our many blessings, and we
wish you and yours a happy holiday season
on this beyond imagination,
amazing and wondrous planet;
a very minuscule place in the heavens,
 and by this understanding and appreciation we are
something very special in God’s vast cosmos,
but perhaps not alone.
